Talented Cameras of Africa

Empowering Emerging African Filmmakers
Initiated by the African Cultural Agency, the Talented Cameras of Africa (TCA) program is a strategic initiative designed to support and promote the next generation of African filmmakers. Since its inception in 2018, the program has provided over 40 emerging directors with a unique opportunity to engage with the international film industry at the Cannes Film Festival, under the African Pavilion.
Participants, all selected for their award-winning short films from leading African film festivals, benefit from high-level training, networking opportunities, and industry exposure tailored to advance their careers. Their short films are featured in the Marché du Film catalog, showcasing a diversity of perspectives from countries such as Senegal, South Africa, Egypt, Benin, Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Niger, Mali, DRC, Somalia, Algeria, and more.

Insights from Our Alumni
"I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for the opportunity to attend Cannes. It wasn’t just a great networking event but also allowed me to make contact and friends with other filmmakers from Africa. This isn’t something I often get the chance to do, and when I do, it is rarely with filmmakers who are at the same stage as me, to share our experiences, concerns and hopes for the future. This is the most vital part of the program, and I hope you will have more years to bring young African filmmakers together!”
